SCORE holds social media marketing strategies workshop
Demming Bass, Constant Contact Regional Development director, will speak on email and social media marketing strategies for small businesses. Attendees will learn how to combine best features of email and social media to create a better understanding of marketing basics, goals and objectives.

Georgia Tech sets business internet seminar on Nov. 10
A new Learners & Leaders program will feature “Internet of Things: What Is It, Why You Should Care And How It Can Boost Your Business” on Nov. 10 at Georgia Tech Savannah.
At the breakfast session, presenters Russ Clark, co-director of the Georgia Tech Research Network Operations Center, and Bill Eason, research scientist at Georgia Tech’s Institute for People and Technology, will demystify Internet of Things (IoT) for you. They’ll describe the rich, real-time customer and business operations data you can gather by using it. They also will highlight fundamentals of IoT that organizations must think through, such as security and privacy, interfaces, standards and employee skill sets.

Synovus to refund ATM fees in wake of storm
Synovus customers affected by Hurricane Matthew who reside in counties subject to mandatory evacuation orders will receive a refund for fees charged by Synovus for use of non-Synovus ATMs from Oct. 5-16.
Refunds will be processed by Oct. 19 and will apply only to fees charged by Synovus.
Synovus operates in the Savannah area as Sea Island Bank.
“Hurricane Matthew has been a major disruption for everyone who lives in its path,” said Wayne Akins, executive vice president and chief retail banking officer at Synovus. “As the hard work of recovery begins along the coast, we want to be here for our customers, especially if they’ve had to take shelter away from home.”
